Rameshwor Khanal, head of Economic Policy Bureau of Naya Shakti has quit the party on Tuesday. Khanal, who remained passive since the last three months in political activities, announced his quitting the party through Twitter. “I am not in any party. I realized that politics is not my forte,” Khanal twitted. Khanal was one of the 25 members of the Central Council formed before Dr Bhattarai announced Naya Shakti. He was directly involved in the economic plannings and reports with coordinator Bhattarai. He had been working in the capacity of the head of the economic policy bureau of the party. Talking to Republica on Monday evening, Khanal said that he had renounced the party after his relevance was not recognized in the party. “I only entered the Nepali Congress. I am associated with it. I was never in the Naya Shakti. I was only its well-wisher,” said Khanal The Central Council meeting scheduled for January 10 and 11 had been postponed at the eleventh hour over dispute in the party.
